About Alastair
My name is Alistair and I'm a handsome ex-colony cat looking for my forever home. I had a rough start as a wild cat on a farm, but the farmers didn't want us to live there. The other cats from my colony have all found places to call their own, I'm still hanging out for the right match. I've spent the last few months with a foster carer learning all about humans and the wonders of house life. I've come so far, from hiding constantly when I first got here, to now seeking out affection and treats.
I am now ready to take the next step on my journey towards being a fully fledged house cat. I'm a bit shy and am looking for a home that will give me space to explore at my own pace. I can take awhile to warm up and realise you are safe, but when I do I'm super affectionate. I'm a hefty boy with the cutest little socks, pink button nose and a mew that will melt your heart. I love food puzzle toys, being groomed and cuddling up in my bed to watch the world go by.
I am FIV positive so although I'd likely enjoy a kitty friend, they should be fully vaccinated or also FIV+. FIV does not effect my day to day life at all, but I may require more specialised care particularly as I age, and of course I should be contained to indoors or enclosures only. I've been around dogs and rabbits who I found a little scary but not too overwhelming. I'm not recommended for house with children who may be loud or try and pick me up before I am comfortable. I'm not hugely active and preferred the laid back lifestyle, beds over climbing gyms any day I say. The humans aren't quite sure how old I am but I'm likely around 4 or 5. I am desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, litterbox trained, health checked, and ready to cuddle you!
I'm currently located in Canberra and would love to meet you.
MY PURR-FECT FOREVER HOME!
Alastair is looking for a quiet, mature home ideally with teenagers, older kids or no kids. He gets along well with other cats and dogs with slow introductions.
SFDR only adopt our rescue cats to indoor only homes- Alastair should only be let outside in a secure cat enclosure, but is also very content to be indoors only.
Medical notes
Alastair is FIV+ but this does not affect his every day life, he is a happy healthy boy with a normal life expectancy.
