About Benji
Benji is a lovely boy who will evolve in his new home to be a wonderful family member. He will melt your heart with his little face that smiles at you when he's happy. He has been in care for a few months and it's time that he went home with his new people. Benji has not had formal training so will be looking for new home to attend to this vital development tool so that he can be a well adjusted and even gooder boy. He is super smart and wants to please and be loved, so teaching him will be a joy. Benji loves to run and can run several kms in a day so a largish , safe yard is a must! A daily walk/ run will keep him mentally stimulated and physically fit. He does like the sound of his own voice - yep...news flash, dogs bark!! He will find less energy to announce each passerby, bird and breeze if he gets sufficiant excercise and stimulation. Benji gets along with most other dogs, however may be overwhelmed in a crowd, so caution advised if his people think letting him off at a crowded dog park is appropriate excercise. *Note he crrently has zero recall, one of the skills he needs to master. He is curious about cats, hasn't really lived with them and would chase them if they run. He may learn to live with a confident, assertive cat.....I think cats who enter his yard would always be fair game. Benji loves kids, but until he learns not to jump he shouldn't play with small children. Benji would love a relaxed female dog to chill with. ONLY female companion dogs will be considered.
His yard must have a sunbathing area. Benji is not yet indoor toilet trained., crate training has been achieved here however he may need to go over this again in a new environment. He requires a patient, experienced doggy home to assist him with this.
*Note Benji was previously advertised with his brother. With vet advice the decision has been made they will be adopted individually.
Medical notes
Benji has been desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and his vaccinations are up to date. He tore his cruciate ligament whilst in care and he has healed well and has vet approval to return to normal activities.
Adoption details
A condition of applying for one of our pets is that you understand that all of our members are volunteers. They have personal lives as well as the great lengths they go to for the animals in our care. Sometimes there may be a delay in responding to applications, this can be for several reasons and will at times take up to a week. We ask for your patience, there is usually much going on behind the scenes. Also please note that all animals listed for adoption with our group have requirements about the type of home they are looking for. Please read all profiles thoroughly prior to applying as we do not wish to waste your time. Thank you so much for considering rescue for your new family member, with help from people like you - we can save them all!
