About August
Hiya, August is the name, and love is the game! I am a domestic short hair mixed ginger and white tom cat of approximately 5 years. Although I was born on the streets, I am more of a family cat.
I am easy going and will find a place in your heart and home from day one. During the day I enjoy lounging about the house and at night I like to cuddle up. I am a soft-spoken cat who loves my food (and yours). Let's see you long you will be able to resist my pretty eyes while you are eating.
I love all members of the family from babies to beardy men and everyone in between (although I am still a little weary of little kids). Unfortunately, due to the life I was forced to live, I have acquired Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). If you do have other cats, my condition should not pose a risk to your other cats as FIV is only spread through deep scratches or penetrating bites. I would love to spend time outside but it is better that I live indoors as I could be exposed to disease and viruses outside. Keeping me healthy will allow me to live a relatively normal cat life and it is recommended that I see a vet twice a year. I will also need more frequent dental cleaning and possible extractions than FIV neg cats.
I am sandbox trained and will sleep most of the day. At times curiosity gets the better of me and I go exploring on shelves, benches and other undiscovered places.

Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
