About Minnie
Minnie is friendly to cats and people alike. She is young, playful, affectionate, happy.
Minnie loves visitors, especially those who pay her attention! she laps up affection as though she has been starved of it. She hasn't of course but she needs more than sharing with so many others.
This girl is not fussy with food but eats enthusiastically and appreciates a variety of wet, dry and raw. I sometimes wonder where she puts it all.
She probably doesn't think it is stealing but helping when she dishes her own dinner out when my back is turned. Scolding her about it only brings an innocent gaze in return. I have never known a cat to look so innocent!!
Around mid morning Minnie usually finds herself a nice place to nap. This is often on my lounge chair! and she objects to moving off! so I have agreed to 'share.' :)
This girl has an easy care short coat and a long lean body which is surprisingly dense in weight. Her small head and face seem to indicate a breed mix particularly of the Oriental breeds and her eye colour still shows a hint of blue in certain lights.
She came to us last November from an owner who was a little out of her depth with three adult siblings, none of which had been vetted.
Minnie is looking for a safe indoor home, or one with a small outdoor enclosure attached to the house or unit. We cannot adopt her to high rise units that do not have safety netted balconies for obvious reasons.
A meeting can be arranged if desired but we like to deliver our cats to their trial adoptions to help them settle and to have a short chat over things.
Medical notes
Minnie was desexed straight after her surrender and found to be on heat.
She was viral tested and is FIV+ but this is of little consequence in the scheme of things.
Many cats carry this virus and very few rescues and shelters even test for it. We test to rule out another, more serious virus which is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Minnie was negative to that. The snap test does both of these at the same time.
Minnie has been hoovering up the food ever since she arrived. Food is very important to her!
She had a mild dose of flu last Winter when she liked sleeping out on the verandah but this was easily sorted with a short course of antibiotics and the rule to sleep inside applied.
Minnie is a lap cat extraordinaire and she would love, love, love to be a bed buddy but if I let all of them be bed buddies there would be no room for me!
Adoption details
After indicating interest in adopting Minnie an arrangement can be made to meet her.
If happy to go ahead we prefer to deliver our cats and help settle them so allow at least a half hour visit for that.
Our trial adoptions are basically for two weeks but in certain circumstances we will extend this to four.
Payment of adoption fee is on delivery and this money is held in trust and returned should the adoption not work out. A transfer of owner form is also filled in and signed by the prospective adoptor but will not be submitted to council until both parties agree to go ahead.
We absolutely love updates and photos of our cats in their new homes and are committed to giving support should that need arise.
