About Pan- Dingo
Hi my name is Pan, and I’m a cheeky, confident young dingo who was rescued from the wild after my family were killed. I like to take the lead and go for adventures - bush walks, swimming, running you name it! I love a cuddle when I'm done playing and ear scratches are my favourite thing! Are you my fur-ever family?
Looking for a cuddly companion with abounding energy, intelligence and a loyal nature? Look no further than pawsome pup Pan!
Pan is good with most people, and loves to play. He can sometimes be shy around strangers but doesn’t take long to warm up and make friends.
He will be 18-20kg when fully grown, he would love a home with a doggy or dingo friend of a similar size or bigger to help build his confidence (no dogs under 10kg).
Pan is a very energetic pup and can be boisterous and rough when he plays. For this reason, he needs a home with kids over 10 only (or no kids). He loves tug toys, squeaky toys and treat balls.
Pan is learning toilet training and will hold on over night if he is sleeping indoors. He great walking on lead and is good in the car for short trips, but will need more practice with his new family. He knows how to sit and is learning to shake hands!
Pan is very intelligent, food motivated and eager to learn. Being a dingo however he is not suitable to let off leash except in a securely fenced area and he is unlikely to ever learn reliable recall (come when called) off the leash.
Pan is not suitable to live with cats, pocket pets, birds or live stock. He needs a large yard and cannot live in an apartment.
Fencing requirements:
Pan is a high content dingo
A high content dingo typically has two dingo parents or a large amount of dingo genetics. High content dingoes are often known as “pure dingoes”. High content dingoes have much stricter fencing requirements due to their climbing ability.
You will need ONE OR MORE of the follow BEFORE an adoption trial with Pollux can begin.
- A 2.2m colour-bond or paling fence with nothing leaning against or near the fence line
- A 1.8m fence (of any sturdy material) with a 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing (see here: https://sanctuarysos.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cat-proof-fence-barrier-to-keep-cats-safe-in-the-garden.jpg ).
- A dog enclosure at least 1.8m high with either a full roof or 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing. Must be at least 25m square (for instance 5m x 5m or 8m x 3m)
For more advice on fencing see our website: www.sydneydingorescue.com.au.
Animal rescue is considered essential. SFDR can still come to you for meet and greets, yard checks and animal adoptions. We have volunteers in Canberra and New South Wales and can come to you even if you we are not in your local government area. Distance is not an issue when we are looking for the perfect homes for our dingoes. Please note we have COVID safety measures in place.

2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Goulburn shelter or their foster carers' home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We are happy to meet new prospective owners anywhere in NSW or the ACT.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
