About Ned
ππ NED ππ
Meet the loveable, snuggly goofball, Ned π₯° Who is very ready to find his furever family!
This boy is amazing! He ticks all the boxes for a family dog or companion! π So make sure you stop and read through this profile, because this guy might just be the one you're looking for! π
Ned is your typical giant lap dog, however he does know his size which is quite rare in these large breeds ;) he is super sweet and just wants all of the love from anyone willing to give it! He may have that deep bark to deter people, but as soon as they're close enough to the fence he turns from barking guard dog, to a big sooky bum who sulks for pats and attention π€£π€¦ββοΈ Ned is a right goofball, he is so full of personality you would think he is part husky π€£π€£π€£
This handsome boy is very gentle with everyone, including the small humans π He is quite well mannered, but when he really wants to give you love he may jump up (gently), but he once he is told no he stops and remembers his manners π Ned is a good boy who knows his basic training, he has great recall (until a really good smell catches his attention, so he is only let off in enclosed areas on on a long lead) and he walks well on lead! He does get excited at the start of the walk, but responds very well to corrections β€
Ned is great with all dogs, big & small, he is besties with our other foster baby Bonnie (a small puppy), he is so gentle with her π He is also great with the large females he lives with, met a small cranky male and was good with him although didn't seem to understand the small dog didn't like him π€¦ββοΈ He has met large male dogs and played beautifully with them π Ned does have some food agrression, however in his foster home he is always fed meals/bones etc.. in his crate and as he has established a bond with the other dogs here he does well taking treats when they're around and does scatter feeds with them. However wont tolerate doing this with strange or new dogs π
This goof is being fed a full raw diet, (BARF) made up of Big Dog Pet Foods , Lyka Pet Food , Prime100 and Ziwi Australia (Ziwipeak) βΊ Ned does have mild hip dysplasia but this is managed with diet and supplements. He is currently thriving on Antinol Rapid from Antinol Australia. Since being on this his pain is gone, he has energy back, and can walk for longer then 5 mins on our daily walks! He can actually run now πππ He will benefit continuing this diet and supplements.
Ned is fully crate trained, he sleeps in there all night and hasn't had any toileting issues π He does live with an indoor only cat, which he has slowly built up a respect for however we would not recommend him being left alone with a cat until many months after he has desensitised to the cat βΊ
Ned wants nothing more then to be apart of the family and to be loved and included in the family π₯° He is easy going and low maintenance, he is happy with lounging around all day and a walk in the afternoon. He is a large breed who enjoys zoomies so having a large yard would be best for him or the ability to go to a park or somewhere where he can stretch his legs and go for a quick run every day βΊ He may not do well at a dog park as some dogs may not appreciate his eagerness to be their friend π€£
