About Evie
Hello awesome people looking at my profile! My name is Evie. I’m a sassy, eight-year-old Siberian Husky, AND I always know what’s best for me HA HA HA.
Those two-legged hooman things are fun to play with and I’m happy to argue back vocally if I don’t want to do what I’m told. Yes, I’m female, and I always must have the last say! Why? Coz, I’m super cool!
That being said, I’m also always up for cuddles and attention (yep, I’m a sucker for those pats and belly rubs, and treats…). I love to run, though I am kind-of starting to slow down a bit due to my age.
I have an exciting history of racing in harness, running either by myself or in a two-dog team, though, though I much prefer running on my own (in front of the human that is). I love to be active and to play with other dogs. Yep, I believe I’m very sociable; however, I can get a little … uuummmm … silly (is that the right word???) at times, which might umm start doggy arguments. Please be watchful, and try to keep a tab on my behaviour so I don’t go overboard??? Once I know my place though, everything works out great.
I am crate trained and have spent most of my life outside. BUT, I am sure I could adjust well to being inside with you, and taking over creature comforts, like, your bed, your couch, that daybed near the window, that floor space where you want to walk. Ohhh and I am exceptionally good at leaving my fur everywhere!
I am well trained and pick things up pretty quickly. I am great with older children as I tend to jump up when I get overly excited. This means that I may accidentally hurt little people, this may be overcome with the right owner, but I think it’s best to not have me with little people. If I am near little people, please make sure I am well supervised – all the time? Thank you!
My ideal home would be with one or two other dogs, even more if you have them. I’d LOVE to be included in family activities, especially play time or cuddles on the couch. Because I know what’s best for me (which is not always best for humans ... hehehe), I probably should find a foster carer and/or new owner that has a strong personality and that can outsmart my smartness and my cheeky ways.
Must haves:
-------------
• NO cats, no pocket pets, no backyard bird cages such as chickens (Siberians can have a high prey drive)
• Secure, undiggable 6ft+ high fencing
• Siberian Huskies will definitely share their fur – with everything e.g., floors, clothes, even your cup of tea
• Siberian Huskies are not loyal, not guard dogs and can never be off leash when out-and-about (they don’t have recall)
• An insane addiction for the breed or willing to listen and learn

Adoption details
We do our best to match these lovable, intelligent, cheeky, obstinate, escape artists with their perfect forever home. To date, we've rehomed over 60 Siberians, and they are all happy!
Currently, we love speaking with potential Foster Carers and Adopting families, please provide us with your number and your suburb so we can match you with our nearest Rescue Coordinator.
When needed, we do yard checks to help minimise any escape routes - especially for Siberian Huskies also known as Houdini's. We also arrange meet'n greets and more.
Everyone fosters before formally adopting. This means each dog gets the best chance to settle in - as do the humans :).
Sometimes we can receive more than 40 applications for the one Siberian Husky. Which is fantastic for the Siberian. However, not so perfect for the families - as many miss out. We consider all applications before any Siberian Husky goes on trial. Please be patient with us. If you miss out, we're happy to keep your application for the next suitable Siberian that enters our Rescue Program.
For more information about our Adoption Processes, please send questions by emailing support@happyhuskies.org.au. Thank you.
