About Annie
Hello awesome humans, my name is Annie. I’m an 8-year-old, cheeky, but eager to learn Siberian Husky. I’m in a position of needing to find a new forever home. Maybe this is you? Do you like lots of fur? Do you think you can you handle grooming me at least once a week?
I’ve only been 8 for a few days, and all I really wanted for my birthday, is a new mum (and/or dad) that can provide me with a forever home. Basically, I’m just looking for my ‘happy ever after’; with just a quiet family lifestyle. Could this be with your family?
I’ve lived a great life and have seen much of the world. I’m happy to play a little, maybe even romp around a bit, but coz of my back history, I really shouldn’t do too much fast-paced activities or running. Sometimes, I know when I’ve over done it … well… sometimes that is.
In the past, I lived happily with other dogs, and I do accept other puppies or older dogs easily. This means, that if you already have a dog, I could join your family without issue providing I am introduced properly to my new fur brother or sister.
On the other hand, I also wouldn’t mind being your only doggy, as then I could hog all your attention. And I’m good at getting attention, just watch me wrap you around my paw! hehehe
My ideal family would love me and give me attention with me ALL day. I know that some humans also need to work - here is good news about me - I can entertain myself while I wait for you to get home. I know right? That makes me so sweet compared to most dogs of my breed that hmmmph seem to always have some form of separation anxiety!
When I’m out and about, going on walks with you, I do need to be on a leash at all times as ... well ... I do like to explore, but I haven’t read the road rules book. English is not my thing at all. Please see below for details on how to keep me safe 😊.
Must haves:
-------------
• NO cats, no pocket pets, no backyard bird cages such as chickens (Siberians can have a high prey drive)
• Secure, undiggable 6ft+ high fencing
• Siberian Huskies will definitely share their fur – with everything e.g., floors, clothes, even your cup of tea
• Siberian Huskies are not loyal, not guard dogs and can never be off leash when out-and-about (they don’t have recall)
• An insane addiction for the breed or willing to listen and learn

My Medical Notes
------------------
The reason I need a quiet life, and coz I do need you to know this … Quite a long time ago, I did sustain a minor back injury (muscle not bone) during my short-lived racing (dry-land sledding) career. My owners made sure I was fully vet checked, cared for and more. Now, I no longer require medication or ongoing care. But I won’t say “NO” to a massage and lots of pampering :) :)
Adoption details
We do our best to match these lovable, intelligent, cheeky, obstinate, escape artists with their perfect forever home. To date, we've rehomed over 60 Siberians, and they are all happy!
Currently, we love speaking with potential Foster Carers and Adopting families, please provide us with your number and your suburb so we can match you with our nearest Rescue Coordinator.
When needed, we do yard checks to help minimise any escape routes - especially for Siberian Huskies also known as Houdini's. We also arrange meet'n greets and more.
Everyone fosters before formally adopting. This means each dog gets the best chance to settle in - as do the humans :).
Sometimes we can receive more than 40 applications for the one Siberian Husky. Which is fantastic for the Siberian. However, not so perfect for the families - as many miss out. We consider all applications before any Siberian Husky goes on trial. Please be patient with us. If you miss out, we're happy to keep your application for the next suitable Siberian that enters our Rescue Program.
For more information about our Adoption Processes, please send questions by emailing support@happyhuskies.org.au. Thank you.
