About Bonded siblings: Evie and Dom
We are seeking foster carers or an adoption (with adoption trial) for this bonded pair.
Dom (Dominic), boy, Tuxie (black and white) # 900164002098272
Evie, girl, Grey and white #900154002098283
Age. Estimated 3 years. We think likely from the same litter.
My friend Robyn and I rescued Evie and Dom in early 2021 from the same colony along with some of their other siblings. We have rehomed many from that colony of healthy cats in Sydney's Inner West and each of them have blossomed and so very loved by their new humans. They along with several others from that same colony have been kept safe in a very comfortable crate set-up in Robyn's garage. We absolutely adore them and if we didn't already have our quota of multi-cats at home we would give them a permanent home in a heartbeat. We are totally committed to finding them a beautiful home together. What we haven't been able to offer them is the full experience of living in a home. We think they will blossom once they are in a home with humans of their own.One of their siblings is actually now the 5th cat in my household and she has blossomed in the 12 months since I adopted her. Such a gentle, loving little cat and I can see the same traits with these two. All these siblings have the cutest little upturned noses.
Dom and Evie have developed a beautiful bond together and are wonderful companions to each other. We often find them snuggling up together as well as playing with each other.
Dom is definitely the more confident of the two of them. He's very play oriented and we have walked in to find him having a wonderful time in the bottom of his crate with his toys. He also plays with the other cats in the adjoining cages including passing his toy mice to them. Lately he's been allowing me to pat him more and he's started lifted his butt and tail in the air as a sign that's he's enjoying the attention. I'm sure I spotted him smiling the last time I patted him.
Evie is a little more reserved than Dom. She allows me to pat her but I can see she's always ensuring she has somewhere to retreat to if she's too overwhelmed. She's such a beautiful little cat. She just needs more time in the right household to blossom in her own time.
They are both so gentle and loving.
Type of household suitable for them:
They would suit a quiet household with either a couple or single person home a fair amount of the time. We haven't been able to spend the time they need to give the two of them the one on one attention they deserve.
They definitely could be in a household with other friendly cats and have recently had some playtime with two other friendly cats we also rescued..
They have been around Robyn's 2 cavoodle dogs and seemed a little interested in them from the safety of their crates
We don't think they would be suitable in a home with young children unless you are prepared to give the two of them their own space to feel comfortable.
Medical notes
They are rescue cats rescued from a colony of cats This colony have all been well cared for and very healthy. They were desexed, vaccinated F3 and microchipped at the first vet visit and there were no detected health conditions. They are up to date with flea and worm treatments. We don't know their background or history prior to finding them living in this colony. We believe that they were born in this colony.
