About Aurora
Aurora is one of the many huskies that we rescued from a hoarding situation. They were living in filth and had to fight for the small amounts of food that were thrown to them. The dogs have had little or no social engagement with humans and know nothing about a routine, living in a house or walking on lead. They all need patient experienced owners who are ready for sleepless nights, chewing and escapism.
Aurora is one of the more confident huskies who already walks well on lead. She enjoys human attention and can be bossy with some of the other huskies. She is friendly with kids. Our trainer says, "she would cope better with quieter older kids 12+yo." She looks to trusted adults for guidance. She weighs 16.1kg, double what she came in at. She has a seasonally shedding coat that needs a lot of brushing. Walkers say: “Very timid and calm”, “A little anxious and scared but mostly gentle and very sweet!”, “Short walk. Definitely clear when she had enough, pulled a little on lead”, “Freaked out at a truck and lawnmower”, “Very curious and a little shy. Lovely dog!”
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
Suit Part Time Worker: Copes alone for short periods, with training possibly longer but presently does need someone home part of the time.
Good with Kids: Shown to be good with kids in the controlled environment of the Shelter.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
