About Miska
Miska is one of the more confident huskies who already enjoys human affection. She has fly bitten ears and scars on her face. She has doubled in weight since arriving an weighs 21kg.
Our dog trainer says: "Copes well with kids but does not really engage. She is best suited in a home with older quieter kids - child tolerant."
Out walking she pulls on lead but ignores cars and other dogs. She enjoys a jog and belly rubs with our volunteers but she takes a while to come out of her shell. She has a shedding coat that sheds seasonally and demands a lot of brushing.
Miska is one of the many huskies that we rescued from a hoarding situation. They were living in filth and had to fight for the small amounts of food that were thrown to them. The dogs have had little or no social engagement with humans and knew nothing about a routine, living in a house or walking on lead. They all need patient experienced owners.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
Suit Part Time Worker: Copes alone for short periods, with training possibly longer but presently does need someone home part of the time.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE: Many people grow up with, or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and well rounded. However, many rescue dogs have not been as lucky in their lives.
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience and an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Medical notes
All our dogs come desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DoggieRescue Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
