About Peaches
**AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN VICTORIA**INDOOR ONLY PET**
At Melton Paws and Claws we prefer our kittens/cats to be indoor only pets, although we do encourage time in a cat run, enclosed outside area, or similar. This is for many reasons including the safety of the kitten/cat from harm of other animals, avoids road traffic, less chance of being lost or stolen, and of course to protect our beautiful wildlife friends.
Peaches is a remarkable young lady with a purr that's as loud as a motorbike! She absolutely adores laying in your arms like a baby, purring ever so loud, and having her face massaged. She loves to nudge you with her head in return, but she is not overbearing at all.
Furthermore, she is a huge fan of humans, and loves to be with you 24/7, but she also has a super fun side to her. She enjoys many toys, playing in tunnels, she loves feline friends, and could adjust to a cat friendly doggy if introduced slowly.
Peaches just wants to be loved, and give love, all day long.
Peaches favourite toys are feathers, and she loves her playtime in the evenings when she is allowed to play with all her friends here in our care.
Peaches also likes children, so she would do well in a family with children, but she is also very independent and is great at entertaining herself.
Peaches came in to our care with her sister as orphans. They were just a tiny little ball, no older than 4 weeks. We worried, she was so little, and we kept a very close eye on her. Since coming in to our care she has blossomed in to a polite, loving, friendly, playful, healthy and funny little lady. We are super proud of her because she was terrified and confused, and now she is a well-balanced, lovable baby.
We think Peaches would adjust to almost any situation, and she is not bossy at all. She is very gentle and protects her little sister, who is half her size.
Medical notes

Melton Paws and Claws process to adopt from us would be considered moderate with some extra questions and steps involved.
Firstly, we require an 'Expression of Interest to Adopt Application Form to be completed and returned to us. Our application form is designed to ask all the questions that ensure potential adopters understand the long-term requirements, costs involved, and emergency vet attention, in adopting an animal.
We also question other pets in the home and for them to describe the personalities of those pets, proof of their vaccinations and desexing, humans to occupy the home, how long the pet will be home alone and where they will be kept when alone, what they intend to feed our adopted babies, we ask for two references, we ask for proof of a vet and their plan if an emergency occurs, we ask about children in the home and to give us an idea of ages and personalities, we ask if they have a car in case of an emergency, and if not we ask how they plan to get their pet to a vet for yearly vaccinations/check-ups, visits and emergencies. We also ask if they will agree to keep kittens and cats inside and ask where other animals will be mostly living in the home. We also have several other questions designed to help us decide if they are suited to our rescue babies.
We then have a phone interview with the potential adopter, and once we are happy with these two processes, we will arrange a meet and greet. Then we will send them our contract of adoption to agree that we remain the second contact on the microchip, that we will offer lifelong support, and that if for any reason they can no longer care for the pet, that they contact us first.
We offer a two-week trial, and after this time we will switch all details to their name and provide all relevant documentation (in the past we have given out paperwork at the beginning of adoption, making it very hard for us to step in and take the animal back if they are suffering).
We have other supports in place for our babies that we are implementing given we are just returning to rescue.
