Should one ask a Samoyed owner they will state their bear is the most catlike of the arctics. Ask a Malamute owner and they will say the same. I'm here to set the record straight and ask all Sibes of the world to unite and demand our people call us Garfield!
A little bit lazy... a little bit sly... and a whole lotta wisecracking going on. OK. OK. The latter really depends on the canine company that I keep for I'm usually as chilled as a frozen margarita on a hot summer's night.
Much to the 'rentals chagrin I've recently learned the art of bitey face, accompanying noises to boot. But if I had to choose games of tug and chasies continue to remain more my speed.
At all other times you will likely find me plonked on my favourite couch, Mrs Mangling the neighbourhood, counting down the minutes to my twice daily constitutional.
With that said feel free to not walk me if the heaven's have opened, just know I'll expect you to make this up to me once the skies are blue again.
For one who is used to having someone around him most of the day you'd be forgiven for thinking I may suffer from some form of seperation anxiety. Silly human - whether you choose to leave me inside the home or outside in the yard, I'll happily while away the time playing with my toys or quietly acquainting myself with the land of nod. Look, I wouldn't mind another friendly canine companion within the home, but I'm also saying that it wouldn't be the end of my world if I remain a pampered only child.
An exceptionally behaved all-rounder, my repertoire of obedience skills is quite extensive. Ask me, I'll show you.
For such an amazing catch as moi, thank you for asking what areas you may need to work on further.
Now, I'm a very food-driven and motivated boy, with raw meat/roadkill my kryptonite. The 'rental has been working really hard to instil the "leave it" command, and you will be required to continue with this and/or swap it out with something of higher value. Otherwise be prepared for me to mouth you. Hard. No skin breaking, though.
The second no-go zone when it comes to strangers is having my tail touched. The trust must be built first, and even then I will tolerate rather than enjoy it. But feel free to rub my belly, whisper sweet nothings in my ear and watch me smile.... then roll over in sleep.
It's for these reasons we recommend that if there are kids in the family, they should be old enough to respect these parameters. The funny thing is, though, that every time I was left to adventure solo in my previous home (which was more often than the ranger liked) I always made my way to the local school yard for playtime.
Described as awesome (I agree), loving (ditto) and a sheer delight to have around (going for the trifecta here....WOOT!) I would fit in anywhere so long as I'm allowed inside/outside access at will... just know that my will is more inside than out.
So, who's couch am I taking over?
