About Magnificent Magnus
Mags was found wandering the streets in Regent's Park, starving, covered in fleas with awful raw skin lesions and begging for food. He appears to have been abandoned because he was so friendly from day 1 and was patient with us while we bathed him daily in special medicated shampoo, gave him medicine and eye drops and slowly nursed him back to health. However Magnus had some red raw lesions on his nose and ears that weren’t clearing up and the decision was made to amputate the parts thought to be cancerous. After the big surgery (paid for in part by our amazing supporters) Magnus has mostly flourished, apart from one little scare that resulted in a few days in hospital. He pulled through thanks to our amazing vets and has been thriving ever since.
While his foster carer has done an incredible job taking care of him to date and wanted to adopt him, her own rescue cat is unsettled by Magnus' presence and despite significant effort on his carer's part to help Magnus integrate into her home, we have made the very difficult and sad decision that Magnus would be better off in a home by himself. While he is not aggressive toward other cats and is a laid back and chilled boy he can be possessive of his human and doesn’t like other cats getting in his face, so we think he would be happier as a solo cat so that he can have his human to himself. We might also consider a home with another older cat or respectful dog where they would largely keep to themselves.
Magnus is super human oriented and just wants as much affection and smooches from his human as he can get. He loves his food and is excellent with his litter box. Being long haired, he does shed a bit, but otherwise he would make pretty perfect companion for someone at home a lot who just wants a best friend.
We are willing to consider a variety of arrangements such as long term foster care, foster to adopt or straight adoption depending on circumstances.

Medical notes
Our cats come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3 & booster), microchipped, FIV & FELV tested and will have up to date worm and flea treatments. There is a one-time council registration fee which is compulsory in NSW, that will need to be met at completion of the adoption trial. Please note their age in this ad is an estimate only. They are rescue cats and their foster parents do not know their precise age or family history and cannot guarantee their future health.
FIV POSITIVE
Please note that Magnus is FIV+, which means that while he is immunocompromised (similar to HIV), if kept strictly indoors, up to date on flea/worm treatments and yearly vaccinations, and fed a raw healthy diet, he can still live a long healthy life. Cats with FIV rarely progress to AIDS (unlike the human virus), in fact only in 5% of cases, which means 19/20 cats will likely die of old age before anything FIV related. It is rarely transmitted to other animals (and can't be transmitted to humans) via casual contact, and only really becomes an issue if taking out pet insurance. Please don’t be afraid to adopt a FIV+ cat, they need loving homes too!
