About Gary the Goat!
Gary the goat is a very strange boy! He simultaneously adores people, yet also takes great pleasure in headbutting if he gets the chance.
He was hand-raised and bottle-fed, so we think he simply doesn’t realise he’s no longer a tiny kid anymore. Gary adores most foods and will follow you around in the hope you’ll sneak him some fruit or veggie scraps.
When he arrived with us, he was underfed, not desexed and difficult to handle. He’s adapted well to socialisation, and now looks forward to people feeding him and happily gives kisses through the fence. Gary has since also been desexed and has gained ample weight, making him happy and healthy! His size means it’s usually a two-person job to trim his feet, and we’re happy to help with a demonstration of this.
Given he often forgets his size and strength, Gary would not suit a home with small children. He gets along fine with all other farm animals and isn’t fussed by them, although he and the other dominant male goat do have headbutt battles from time to time. This quirky goat is a lot to handle, but we love him!
