About Taya
Foster Carer Needed with Option to Adopt!
Hi, I'm Taya. I'm about 5 years old and a really sweet, friendly girl. My previous family sold me a few months ago and the new family who bought me had plans to use me as a hunting dog (although that didn't work out). However, I had an injury on my paw which got progressively worse and I ended up gnawing my paw off as I was in pain. My new family decided that I was no longer useful to be a hunting dog and asked the vet to euthanise me. The kind vet however refused and amputated my leg instead. I am now in temporary care with a member of the Home Safe Rescue team, but do still need a foster carer to give me the care and love I deserve with an option to adopt if it is the right family for me. Im very well behaved with humans and super affectionate, but become very defensive with other dogs while im healing from surgery and feeling vulnerable.
If you have a safe home where I can sleep indoors, no other pets, have at least one person who is at home for most of the day, and able to lift me if I need help, please email homesafesydney@gmail.com for a foster application. Those looking to layer adopt me will be prioritised as I grow attached very easily and will struggle once I have to move on from my foster home. I am currently located in Western Sydney, NSW.
Medical notes
My leg is amputated so I may have medical issues in future, but nothing that can be predicted at this stage. For now I have a vet visit to remove my stitches in 2 weeks.
