About Cotton Eye Joe
I see you looking at me! I am quite stunning aren't I? My name is Cotton Eye Joe but my foster parents call me Joey. You may have noticed I have only one eye but that isn't going to slow me down. My confidence will increase once I adjust so for now, please don't sneak up on the side with the missing eye.
I can be very timid but who can blame me when I was living on the streets? I will make an exception if you have a yummy treat in your hand and once I get up close to you, I am the biggest smooch and cannot get enough of head scratches and attention. My foster mum has no trouble picking me up as I trust her and like to be handled. Sometimes she tricks me by picking me up to say hello to other humans but once they start handing over the treats/scratches, I forgive the trickery. I have even started crying from the spare room when I would like some company as I don't want to be alone when I can hear people nearby.
I haven't been in my foster home very long but I am desperate to get out of the spare room to explore. My foster parents already have two resident cats and our introductions have to be slow and steady so we aren't too sure how that will go but my foster mum will provide an update in the coming days.
I am really low maintenance, happy to be at home alone while you're at work and not at all fussy when it comes to food. I haven't been tested with little people or pets but I am young and hopefully with a patient owner, I will build confidence and become more relaxed every day to fit into any home. I can't wait to see you!!
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
