About Aslan
Haroo, I’m Aslan!
It’s my turn for my forever home and let me tell you, I reckon I’m fit for a GREAT one! I’m clever, playful, loving, and social. What more could you ask for? Training I guess – BAM got that too.
My ideal home would include someone with breed experience, although I will of course fall in love with anyone willing to do the work. Someone I can trust too, to take the best care of me and keep everyone safe. You see, I am fearful of strangers entering my yard or home, and I am very protective. I need a secure yard and some space of my own where I can go when you have visitors – don’t worry, I’m crate and place trained and even muzzle trained.
Don’t think this makes me unfriendly though! I am super social: I love people including kids (although I would prefer a home with older kids who will respect boundaries with me), I also get on with other dogs and have been living happily with a cat.
Aside from some security, I’d like a home with plenty of adventure, including long walks and runs. When we’re at home, I’ll happily snooze by your side or at your feet. Not ALL the time though, of course we’ll need to spend some time playing with toys! I love tug-o-war and squeaky toys ?? . Finally, many many kisses and cuddles and all sorts of other love please!
I mentioned some of my training above – I’ve been attending Canine Connect and I’ve learned HEAPS, including focus training and loose leash training. Scruffer Lovers is happy to commit 5x weekly lessons as part of my adoption, as the crew at Canine Connect love having me and are keen to keep working with me – how cool is that?!
Medical notes
Aslan has a Cervical Mucocele see information below.
Dogs and cats have four salivary glands, and all can become affected by cysts. These salivary gland cysts are known as sialocele (or a salivary mucocele). It is the most common salivary disorder in dogs and is noticed by swelling under their neck or jaw. It is most frequently seen in dogs, but it sometimes can affect cats as well.
At this stage the vet has said there is no need to remove
Aslan will need weekly ear cleans with Epi Otic as can suffer from ear infections.
