About Gene
Hey there, I am Gene, a hunky boy who came to Cat Haven after I was found living in a drain! I went to a foster home to help be learn how to be a house cat. Living rough I have been in a few fights over the years and I think it's time for me to settle down in a forever home where I can be safe and dry.
My foster mum says I am a gentle giant. I am so chilled I let her touch my tail, toes, and stomach as long as it is included in my daily brush. When she comes and brushes me (two times a day) I purr and give lots of head bops. If there is a blanket I make lots of cakes and biscuits for her. I like to keep her company when she watches TV. I haven't tried the lap yet but I place a paw on her to let her know I am near.
I can get along with cats and dog. I am a little vocal at night because I want to go outside but settle down when I go to bed. I am in training in using a harness for walks outside the house but I must be confined to a cat enclosure due to my FIV status. I am still not confident enough and do get startled quickly by unexpected noises or movements around me.
I just need a warm home where I can feel nice and safe at last. Is that with you?
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
