|Interstate adoption (VIC only)|
Keenan and his 3 pals were dumped to fend for themselves, at risk of starvation or predation before they were impounded
They’re unfortunately victims of our wider community’s disregard for the inevitable baby boys that come when chickens are bred in hopes of bringing more hens into the world.
Rooster chicks are routinely macerated or gassed when they are moments-old on commercial farms, so any impounded roos we have the pleasure of knowing were irresponsibly bred by backyard chicken keepers or hatching projects with no plan for their future and are the tip of a very sad iceberg of boys in need.
Every rooster in our care was left at the pound and facing euthanasia or were dumped in suburban streets or parks, and at the moment we are at capacity with beautiful individuals waiting with us for somewhere to call home.
Right now we are unable to help any more desperate boys until we place our current fosters, so if you’d like to talk about adopting Keenan or one of his friends we would love to hear from you!
We have bonded teams, roos who would thrive in Batchelor flocks and boys with big personalities who would be better off being the lone roo with ladies to protect, we’d love to have a chat and let you know who would fit into your family
Please share widely to help find loving homes for our sweet boys so we can continue helping those still facing an untimely end 💕🐓
Our adoption process is an initial application form, followed by a conversation over message or phone, and finally a property check. Adopters must agree to the condition that animals must be returned to our rescue if they can no longer stay in their home.
