About Bonded pair: Jinxy and Fergus -the handsome boys.
bonded pair. Not negotiable to separate them.
Jinxy medium haired blue and white (#900079000201247) Fergus short-haired blue (#991001001733700).
They have been in foster care with a lovely couple for 3 1/2 months and would have been adopted by them except for an overseas posting for work. This is the first time the boys have had complete reign of the household as previously they were restricted to one room and an outside cat run. Their foster parents have provided us with the following wonderful insight into the boys.
This spend the majority of their waking time with each other. They go for walks together (patrolling the lounge room), eat together, play together, sit together and cat nap together (love the photos of them cuddling). In the evening Fergus gets up first and then sometimes meows at Jinxy to come and join him. Their connection and bond with each other is just beautiful. As they became more comfortable in their foster parent's home they started to call out to each other more often. On waking one will call to the other to see if they are awake. If one is in a different part of the home the other will call out to beacon that he be joined.
Jinxy is definitely the more adventurous and confident of the two, so he was the first to do new things in the home, but Fergus observes Jinxy and then will copy him when ready. They told us "Jinxy is by far the more comfortable and relaxed. Fergus gets skittish very easily, but equally gets very curious or very affectionate very easily".
Here's more wonderful insight their interactions with humans!!! "s " Jinxy is more playful with us. We’ve started a game where we have treats in our hands and move it around making Jinxy follow until he taps our hand with his paw, then he gets the treat. When we move the treats around with Fergus he just sits there until it is essentially under his nose. Jinxy seeks out being petted but we still have to lure Fergus out of his bed with treats. In terms of pampering, Jinxy prefers a brush and has a favourite. Fergus prefers hands. Jinxy likes being petted in big long strokes all the way to the tail, Fergus prefers small strokes around the head, cheeks and shoulders. Fergus is more comfortable patrolling around when we’re still around, eg when we’re on the couch watching TV."
When first in foster care they were given a dedicated room, once comfortable then then the door was left open for household exploring. At first this happened once the humans were in bed (all captured on petcam). "\Now they are coming to us in the lounge room for treats, petting or to play. They’ve even relocated their sleeping areas to the lounge room not very far from us. Sometimes they come over and sit near us to groom. Jinxy is now even content enough to jump up onto the couch next to us for short periods". They were so excited when they discovered that Fergus had decided to jump up on the lounge with Jinxy while they too were sitting on the lounge. Their future forever humans an look forward to all of these wonderful milestones and more...
The latest updates: "Both will seek us out now for treats, pets and company. Fergus is more tense as we walk around - he doesn’t seem to believe that he won’t be stepped on or something! However, even when scared it is easy to get him to come over and his tail will pop fully up and even “happy twitch” (if you’re familiar with that - it looks like a tiny electric shock at the tip, not like an annoyed/angry flick) and purr when petted, relaxing almost instantly. Jinxy is generally relaxed now and will flop down pretty much any where without concern, though likes to occupy tabletops, relocating randomly from room to room".
They recently had adolescent and young adults visit for a few weeks. Despite expecting the cats to run away and hide they didn't. and were actually very comfortable. The boys would suit a quiet home (solo, couple or a family with adolescents or older children.
Medical notes
They are rescue boys rescued from a colony of cats when they were about 12 months old. This colony have all been well cared for and very healthy. They were desexed, vaccinated F3 and microchipped at the first vet visit and there were no detected health conditions. They are up to date with flea and worm treatments and will have a current vaccination F3 prior to adoption trial. We don't know their background or history prior to finding them living in this colony but suspect they were born in the colony.
