💜🌷 MEET INDIGO 🌷💜
Hello humans, my name is Indigo. I am just over a year old and I’m a beautiful, fiesty girl who is looking for a home of my own. I might need a very patient foster home first though, to complete my house cat training.
I have been with my current foster human for 6 months, I am still very spicy but I am better than I was when I first came to this new home. No one has been able to pat me yet - as soon as their hand gets anywhere close to me, I will swat them away.
I prefer the quieter lifestyle and I am happy to sit in my bed or cat tree. I'm a little playful, but only when the humans go to bed. I like toy mice the most. I also enjoy laying by a window and letting the sun bathe me, unless it is very hot, and then I'd prefer to try and find somewhere to keep cool. I will mostly sleep the day away, I come alive at night when the humans are in bed.
After some time, patience and effort from you humans, I’ll even let you see that I sometimes enjoy pets... just not with that thing the humans call a back scratcher. I prefer something softer, like this soft toy on a stick my current foster human uses, that can come with me to my new home.
Please don't let my fiesty/spicy side scare you away, I need someone to have my back through the good and the bad and be with me through to the end, so I can grow and blossom into a fully fledged house cat.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I have lived with another timid foster cat, who I became friends with immediately. I've also had a very friendly exotic cat around the home for the last few weeks, and am completely unbothered by him, even when he eats my food. I only get hissy when he gets too close to me/bops me with his cheeky paw when he tries to play. You see, I do not really know how to cat, so playing together is not something I know how to do. I will watch humans interact with the friendly cat though, and it's showing and teaching me slowly that the humans aren't so bad.
I think if I was to have a new home with other cats, they would need to be friendly, I think that will help show me how to trust humans and it might help me be a little more confident. If you don’t have other cats though that is okay too, just means more time for me 😺
I don't think I've ever been near a dog, so I don't know how I would like that. I would be suited to a home with older kids as I need people who are patient and will appreciate my boundaries. I have been around little children, and am fine for them to scratch me using a longgggg scratch stick, if they are being gentle, but no hands please!
As with anything, a slow introduction to other animals will make my transition into your home easier. It’s going to take me a while to settle in regardless, and I know it will take a lot of TLC and patience put into me before I start to come around.

I enjoy watching cat TV on YouTube. Birds, squirrels fish or mice ones - I don't mind. I also don't mind having the radio playing through the day, it gets me used to hearing human voices if the humans are often away at work. I enjoy fresh air, unless it is very hot - and then I don't mind the air con being on for me instead so that I can keep cool during these summer days.
When I was let out to free roam, I would just find the tallest piece of furniture to lay on top of where the humans could hardly reach me. And I'd stay there all day, knowing I was safe from being touched by humans.
I am not food motivated, I will only really come out to eat when humans are not around. I am fussy with my biscuits, because I recently overcame a colon issue called colitis only some months ago. So, I currently only really like and eat the Royal Canin Digestive biscuits, which I have access to all day long. I also enjoy half a pouch of "Fussy Cat" raw meat which my human buys from Coles. Any flavour is fine.
Thank you for learning more about me. It is hard to open up, but my human thinks I have a lot of potential, I just need to build trust first ❤️
My PURR-fect home would be with someone who has the time that I require, because progress with me will be a long game and I do not like moving houses - it just sets back my progress. I think I deserve a chance to find a home to call my own, don't you? 😿
