About Owl City
Hello, my name is Owl City and I'm looking for a very special forever home. You see, I'm an extremely timid one year old boy and even after 7 months in a foster home, I'm still pretty shy. My new home will need to be with a family that is willing to let me take the time to come out of my shell, and who understand that I might never be lap cat.
My ideal home would be quiet and predictable, with no children or other pets. I'm not very adaptable, so it would suit me best if we could develop a solid routine. My perfect family would be one or two people who are laid back and not super active.
I know this sounds like I'm just high maintenance, so let me tell you about some of the progress I've made since being in foster! It has been slow but steady. When I first came to foster, I was very, very, very frightened, basically all the time. I used to hiss a lot to try and tell humans that they shouldn't mess with me. I hid all the time, I was impossible to get anywhere near, I never played, and I ate very little.
Today, I have improved to the point where I will often come out of hiding while there's a human in the room. I still don't like sudden moves, but if you are going to bribe me with my all-time favourite snack (Dine Creamy Treats), I will even come up to you.
I have recently learned that being patted is a good thing, and I have discovered my purr! I will not only accept being patted, but also give you very small head boops. When I'm enjoying a pat, I like to flop down and I don't mind my tummy being patted, which is a real sign of trust for such a shy boy as I am.
I also now like playing and my favourite toy is feathers. I like it best when the toy is dragged very slowly away from me - when that happens, I can't help but pounce.
I've become better at taking things in my stride, but if you adopt me, please be aware that I might take quite some time to get to this same point with you. The most important thing I am looking for in my forever family is patience, which I will reward by continuing my journey to becoming more sociable.
If you think you could give me the right sort of home, please come and meet me at my foster home in Girrawheen.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
