About Iva
I am looking for a patient family that would allow me to take my time to settle in, but with pats and a calm environment I just know I'll be the best cat I can be!
Err hello? Hi, hiya...I'm Iva and while I have the most beautiful eyes, and gorgeous licorice colouring, I'm actually a real scaredy cat. I'm only 2, so I'm sure I'll turn around with some special attention, care, kindness and a very very slow quiet introduction.
The first 4 weeks I hid away in my special spot. I didn't come out at all in front of the humans but they kept feeding me and looking after me. So I've slowly started showing myself and now, I can even be in the same room as them. Im a bit jumpy and get scared easily, plus if you get to close I just have to let out a hiss and I might try to push you away if you move too fast. I don't mean to but I'm just so terrified someone's going to hurt me. But I've come such a long way in 2 months! I'm just not quite ready to be touched / but I do much prefer to be around them than hiding away now!
See, I'm getting closer to my foster family. There's the big human they call mum and then two smaller versions, I'm less sure about them. There are also two resident cats and I'm starting to get along quite well with them, though the big fluffy one steals all my food. I love to play catch the toy mouse in the roundabout, I get a bit sad when that game stops, so I might play fight with a towel or I do love my knitted Gekko - I carry him into my hiding spot!
The other night I even stood by the small humans bedrooms as they were going to sleep...their beds looked comfie but I just couldn't bring myself to be brave enough to join them...one day.
So if you've got a space in your house and heart for a super scardey cat like me and you have the patience and enough love to let me slowly slowly come out of my shell and not get upset if I back chat then I'd love to meet you - I'll draw you in with my beautiful eyes and make you laugh with my towel attack game and eventually I'll show you just how much love I have to give!
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
