About Zelda Whinnie
PURRSONALITY TRAITS
Hello! Are you after more than 1 cat? We are Zelda and Teddy, 7 month old teens! You may have seen us on social media before with our sibling Bear, and yep, we are still looking for our forever home!! We are super friendly and cuddly, and it didn't take long for us to settle into our foster homes especially when we got one another. We love to be adopted together since we are special and will need to be adopted to a single cat household due to our feline coronavirus background - see below!
A little more about us is that we are young teens who still LOVE to play and chase after toys mouse and balls - our favourite being the laser pointer! We love both the humans' and cats' company as we are known to be affectionate! We will be suited to a home with young children if they would give scratchies and pats. We are also named purr monsters, especially during bedtime when we would sleep and snuggle next to you!
You can meet us in our foster home in Atwell and don't forget to bring some treats for us!
Health Issues
Zelda & Teddy have been exposed to Feline Coronovirus (FCoV) and have positive titres for this virus. Due to the virus being highly contagious, to limit the spread it is important that these cats remain in a single-cat household, and should be kept indoors. FCoV is spread to other cats via the faecal-oral route. It is important to note that Feline Coronavirus is NOT the same as the human Coronavirus. This virus has been prevalent within cats for many decades and is NOT transmissible to humans.
Both Zelda & Teddy have recovered from Cat Flu. Teddy suffered significant damage to his left eye as a result of extensive corneal ulceration due to cat flu. His eye has milky white appearance due to corneal scarring, and vision in the left eye is largely lost. Its appearance will unfortunately never return to normal, but it is not causing any discomfort, and does not need any treatment. It is a cosmetic only, not a welfare issue. If he develops any complications in the left eye within the next 12 months after adoption, Cat Haven will offer surgical enucleation (removing the eye) free of charge. Any other medical or surgical treatment can be sought through your regular veterinarian at your own expense.
Zelda and Teddy are suspected of having a condition called Juvenile Gingivitis. This means inflammation of the gums which is painful, and can lead to infections and more severe dental disease. Many cats will grow out of this issue before approximately 2 years of age, however some will have the condition for life.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
