About Miss Ellie
Helllloooooo human two-legged things. I’m a cute, white, fluffy, 6-year-old looking for that special home that can keep up with my seriously Siberian sassy needs. So, yes, I’m really needy. Do you remember that intense desire and hunger pang every time you walked past your favourite desert shop and you know you just want that ever-so-yummy desert in the window? You gotta have that desert, right? Well, that’s me. But instead of the desert – I NEED my Humans.
Yup. You guessed it right! I have this thing that these humans have called ‘separation anxiety’. I just call it ‘a-woo-wo-wooooo-wo-woh’. But, hey, I’m not gonna argue about languages. But, my carers have told me to tell you that you really need to have Siberian Husky experience, and you need to be home 24/7 to give me all that attention I’ve missed out on. Coz, now I’ve learned about things called soft beds, and warm cozy laps (even though I don’t fit so well on them) well.. I’ve just gotta have it all – and then some more. – attention that is. You give me hugs and I’ll hug you back… forever!
You see, just like a couple of my four-legged friends, we spent years just pacing in cages. Now we’re free of those cages we want to make up for lost time. So, if you are home, like, all the time; and you can help me learn to not be so needy (that pesky separation anxiety thing). I-I-I I know I can be good. I know I can learn to be good. But I’m going to need a lot of time, patience, understanding and maybe even some training to get there.
I need my new humans to be strong of mind and I need them to be friendly and loving. I need them to take me for walks as I love exploring this big big world. I may be a little shy at first and I may not eat food for the first couple days. But don’t let that worry you as I’m a Siberian Husky – and we don’t ever let ourselves starve! Hehehehe 😊
I have to ask though, because of where I come from, you will need to be husky-savvy, have a lot of time (as in be home a lot), and have a tonne of patience. If you can do this, then I’m pretty sure you can handle a Siberian like me! 😊
You will need: A back yard with secure (over 6-foot-high) fencing that is undiggable (dog proof). Please check your gates too – ‘coz some of us Siberians can use them easily for digging under or climbing over. Make sure there is nothing up against your fences too – as we call these things “great launching pads” for jumping over! Why Coz, I'm an awesome Siberian Husky - also known a Houdini’s … hehehe … so I just gotta make sure that our new human(s) have a safe & secure property to keep me in. No exceptions.
Also, I kinda do have a bit of that natural Siberian Husky prey drive, so please – have no pocket pets (cats, mice, rabbits etc.). But, I am pretty great with children 8 years old or older 😊
Anyone who is interested in taking on meeeeee … please reach out to Happy Huskies www.happyhuskies.org.au or send them an email to support@happyhuskies.org.au and tell them a paragraph or two about yourselves so they can match you and your personality to the awesome ME. 💕 Thank you and good luck. 😊
Adoption details
Happy Huskies Victoria Inc. (HHV) is a new Community Foster Care Network (CFCN). We are a friendly, dedicated, breed-passionate team of volunteers assisting with rescued, surrendered and/or abandoned Siberian Huskies. Collectively, we bring you more than 20 years experience in Rescue and Rehoming Siberian Huskies.
We do our best to match any of our Siberian Huskies available with their perfect forever home.
To do this we will speak with potential adoptees, we ask that an Expression of Interest Adoption form be completed, then, if needed, we may do a yard check to minimise any escape routes for the Siberian Husky. We then ask potential adoptees to meet the Siberian. If all goes well - the Adoptee family then pays the adoption fee, and starts a trial period.
Sometimes we can receive more than 40 applications for the one Siberian Husky. Which is fantastic for the Siberian. However, not so perfect for the families - as they miss out. We consider all applications before any Siberian Husky goes on trial. Please be patient with us. If you miss out, we're happy to keep your application for the next suitable Siberian that enters our Rescue Program.
For more information about our Adoption Processes, please send queries to us at by emailing support@happyhuskies.org.au. Thank you.
