About Lucky ~ 6mo Maremma(On trial 27/8/21)
Meet loveable Lucky. Lucky is a 7 month old Maremma. He is a very relaxed, happy, friendly and sweet big boy who will melt your heart with his gorgeous smile. He loves children, adults and animals. He is looking for his forever home.
Lucky is a livestock guardian dog and although these dogs can do great in a suburban environment, they thrive in a rural environment with stock to protect. He is very typical of a rural Maremma and is only suitable for a rural property. He is currently in foster care with 4 other Maremmas, a Border Collie, and a Kelpie, and he gets along fine with them and would prefer not to be alone. He is currently resource guarding the food, but we are working on this with him, and he is improving every day.
Lucky has been introduced to sheep, chickens, ducks, geese and horses. Although he is still very young, he is showing positive guardian traits. In time he will be a great asset to your livestock guardian crew. He is standoffish until he gets to know you, then he’s there beside you for cuddles and hugs, or just to walk with you. He is happy to sleep either outdoors or indoors. He’s really good on a lead and enjoys walks. As with any young Maremma, he needs to be in a securely fenced area until he is old enough to stay with his stock.
Lucky is a very typical Maremma, so please do not apply if you do not know the breed, and please be aware that he will not be able to go to a home where the yard is a typical suburban block, as this is not at all enough for a working dog.
If Lucky sounds like your pawfect match, please fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt or for more information please contact Kristy at kri201@hotmail.com
Lucky's adoption fee is $700. He is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and been treated for fleas and worms. Lucky currently lives in Eagleton NSW
