About Elvis
PURRSONALITY TRAITS
G'day, Elvis here, aka Elvi, aka The Big Friendly Giant. I'm a laid-back, contented big, nearly 5 year old boy. I'll purr in happiness when you wake up in the morning, I'll purr sitting next to you, I'll purr when we head bump, and most of all, I'll purr when you pat me. When you pat me while I'm sitting in my cat bed, I'll lose my mind. That's my favourite thing in the whole world. I just loooove kneading my cat bed, it's so soft and cosy. But I also love human company. Not every room has a cat bed unfortunately, so sometimes I have to choose between my foster person's company or my bed. That's tough. But usually I'll chose company and lie near or on my foster's computer while she works. My dream home would be a cat bed in every room and lots of cuddles, mmmm. If you're lucky I might sit on your lap and knead you too. With my big, strong, paw muscles you'll feel like you're getting a Swedish massage. A massage with claws. If I don't already sound like such a good boy, let me tell you: I scratch my scratching post, I sleep in my cat bed, I'm quiet all night, I wee in my litter box and I poop...well... almost always in my litter box.
I was sadly surrendered due to my owner's living conditions not being the best for me to live in. When I first got to my foster home I was scared of loud noises and would hide, but whenever people would call me I'd come out. I feel safest with people close by. After a day or two I relaxed and became such an easygoing, chilled out guy. I should probably exercise and play more but I'm already so happy napping.
In my beloved cat bed, with a paw stretched out towards you.
I haven't met many children but I'm very tolerant and placid, so I think we'd get along well. I previously lived with a dog and enjoyed it, so could do so again with a proper introduction. I also lived with a cat. That did not go so well - I should be your only cat. I'm big enough for two, after all. In the past I've had a bladder problem, but since I've been eating urinary care cat food and kept my stress levels low with this relaxed lifestyle, I've been fine. If I sound like the perfect fit for your family, get in touch and find out more from my foster family in Beaconsfield.
Health Issues
Elvis has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats.
Elvis has previously had an episode of lower urinary tract disease, a condition which may result in urinary obstruction. Male cats can develop a urinary OBSTRUCTION from the mucus and crystals associated with this condition. This is considered an emergency and it is imperative that a veterinarian is consulted. Cat Haven recommends regular veterinary check ups for your pet. In addition, limiting stress is essential for these cats.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
