About Friday- Dingo
Hi my name is Friday and I'm a handsome, cheeky 2yo dingo who loves to play! I'm a real ladies' man, but I don't mind guys to if you've got treats and are willing to take it slow when you first meet me.
I love other dogs and need to go to a home with a canine companion to keep me company and help build up my confidence as I can be shy at first with new people and new places. Because I'm quiet boisterous when I play, my doggy friends should be 10kg or larger so they can keep up with my energy levels (I might accidentally be too rough with very small dogs).
I'm an energetic boy and love to go for long bush walks, I walk well on lead- but prefer walks in a quiet setting like the beach or the bush rather than busy cafes, markets or dog parks. Being a dingo, I do not have good recall and should not be let of leash unless I'm at home in a securely fenced yard.
I'm good in the car, and used to riding in a crate or on the backseat.
Because I can be a bit shy at first and easily startled, and I am quiet boisterous and jumpy when I play, a home with kids over 12 would be best please or an adult-only household.
I was found as a pup in the Kimberly region of WA. I was surrendered to the dingo rescue through no fault of my own because when I was 2yo my former owner moved to SA where dingoes are not allowed.
My new home will need secure 2m fencing (made of a sheer surface like pailings or colourbond) or a 1.8m fence with a 70cm inward facing return/over hang at 45 degrees to stop me climbing. For more info on fencing check out: http://www.sydneydingorescue.com.au/adoption.html
Animal rescue is considered essential. SFDR can still come to you for meet and greets, yard checks and animal adoptions. We have volunteers in Canberra and New South Wales and can come to you even if you we are not in your local government area. Distance is not an issue when we are looking for the perfect homes for our dingoes. Please note we have COVID safety measures in place.

Adoption details
Please note at this time pending legal advice we are unable to offer fox kit adoption to private owners.
Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Gouburn shelter or their foster carers home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We drive dingoes all over NSW and the ACT to meet families interested in adoption.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
