About Layla
Introducing Layla, who is available for adoption through BTC Animal Shelter In.
Layla is an almost 2 (in August) female staffy cross breed. Please remember that Layla is really still a pup and still has puppy like behaviours, i.e. jumping on you and mouthing.
Layla is currently not desexed however this will be done ASAP.
Layla has lived with her family since 8 weeks of age however Layla's family situation has changed and she is not allowed inside the house which is causing her great distress.
Layla is being surrendered due to a change in living circumstances and her unhappiness about that (i.e. having to stay outside).
Layla has been very much apart of a family and now she needs to stay outside and has taken to digging, chewing and scratching at the door to come inside.
Previous to living outside Layla was allowed run of the house with her family and she was a happy little lady. However this is no longer the case and therefore is being rehomed in the hope that she can again be part of a family and be given run of the house.
Layla loves people and loves to be around people, they are the centre of her world. Layla loves to be inside with her family, patted and shown lots of love.
Layla is an active girl that loves an adventure. Layla travels well in the car and is house trained.
Layla isn't too sure about loud noises such as the lawn mower or whipper snipper so just needs some re-assuring that it's ok. Layla can also pull on lead so requires a strong handler and lead work. Other than puppy school Layla has not had any training and would benefit from this greatly. Layla is food motivated therefore would take to training well when rewarded with a treat.
Layla is good with children and has been around children.
Layla has been an only dog so she is untested with other dogs. Layla is also untested with cats. Given her energetic approach to life, we think that Layla would be more suited to a home without cats or pocket pets.
Adoption details
A questionnaire will need to be completed which will allow us to ensure we are placing our animals into the right home. Please note that completing the questionnaire does not place you under any obligation to adopt. If we think you might be a good match we can arrange a meet and greet for you (and existing pets) to spend some time with the pet and see if they are likely to fit into your life.
