About Dusty - Dingo Mix
Hi my name is Dusty and I'm a bundle of puppy energy and affection! I'm named Dusty Spring-filled as I have springs in my legs and bounce like a bunny when I'm excited. I'm a dingo mix.
I love squeaky toys and tug toys as well as long walks. I walk well on lead and my foster family are working yard on my leash skills and basic commands- I know how to sit and lie down and I'm very food motivated. I have even been doggy obedience school! I am still a big puppy though and I do love to chew and need reminding sometimes about what are my toys and what are human things- not for chewing.
I'm house trained and used to living indoors, though my new home will need a big backyard with secure fencing for outside play time! I sleep through the night and love to snuggle in bed with my foster family.
I love other dogs, but need a playmate able to keep up with my energy levels who won't be bothered by my boisterous nature and desire to play-play-play. I have previously been to doggy day care so I'm used to being around lots of dog friends!
I can be timid with new people, especially men as sadly I previously came from an abusive home. But my foster family are working on getting me used to suburbia, new situations and new people with lots of positive reinforcement and I'm improving a lot! I don't take long to warm up once I meet you, especially if you have tasty treats and are happy to take things slow.
I get a bit car sick on long car rides (30-40min) but being in the front seat helps and I'm practicing car trips with my foster family.
NOTES:
Because Dusty is a dingo mix/low content dingo, he needs a home with secure 1.8m (minimum) fencing, made of a sheer material like pailings or colourbond that he can't climb.
Dusty has not been tested with kids, but with slow introductions could go to a home with kids over 12.
Dusty needs a home with no cats, birds, livestock or pocket pets.
Dusty is not suitable to live in an apartment.
Adoption details
Please note at this time pending legal advice we are unable to offer fox kit adoption to private owners.
Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Goulburn shelter or their foster carers' home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We are happy to meet new prospective owners anywhere in NSW or the ACT.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
