About Maze- Dingo Rottweiler Mix
Hi my name is Maze!
I’m a sweet, energetic playful girl and so affectionate. I love belly rubs, ear scratches, and head pats. I’m a bundle of love and energy, really I’m just a big silly puppy.
I love other dogs and at my previous home I went to doggy day care with other dogs. Because of my size (21kg) it would be best if my playmates were over 10kg.
Ideally I need a home with another dog (or 2!) because otherwise I can get some mild separation anxiety. Having a canine playmate will keep me busy and happy when you’re out or at work. I am great with other dogs.
I like kids and have lived with young kids in the past, but being so boisterous and excitable kids over 5yo would be best. I can be a bit nervous around men at first, especially strangers and might bark at them or try to hide till I get to know them but I warm up quickly especially if they have treats for me!
I am great in the car and I even know how to sit and lay down (for a liver treat!) and I’m very food motivated. I walk well on lead though I pull a bit when I’m excited.
Being a dingo I do not have great recall (even though I know my name I don’t always come when called) and so should not be let off leash except in a fenced area.
NOTES:
Maze is a Rottweiler dingo mix and was surrendered due to no fault of her own as her previous family did not have another dog and worked long hours, being alone for long stretches of time caused Maze to bark and upset the neighbours due to separation anxiety. We have not had issues with Maze barking excessively at the shelter now she has a dog companion. Maze would be Ok to live without another dog if her new family were home a lot.
Maze needs a home with secure 1.8m fencing and no cats, pocket pets or birds.
Animal rescue is considered essential. SFDR can still come to you for meet and greets, yard checks and animal adoptions. We have volunteers in Canberra and New South Wales and can come to you even if you we are not in your local government area. Distance is not an issue when we are looking for the perfect homes for our dingoes. Please note we have COVID safety measures in place.

Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Goulburn shelter or their foster carers' home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We are happy to meet new prospective owners anywhere in NSW or the ACT.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
