About Sophie
Sophie is a very loving and affectionate cat. She came from a family with 2 girls aged 5-10 years old and she gets along with my 14 month old. We believe she would get along with older children or children who can understand when she has had enough. She was surrendered due to the owner needing to move home. She didn't take any time to settle in and has blended beautifully with my family and my cats. She tolerates my older, more gentle cats but she doesn't get along well with my younger, playful cats who annoy her with their energy. She wants to meet my dogs but one of them barks at her and spooks her. Another of my dogs is very placid and does not bother her so we believe she will get along with gentle, quiet dogs. Sophie over to be with us and lay close. She talks to us a lot and responds when we call her. She isn't super playful but that may come out with time. She loves a good pat and cuddle.
Medical notes
Sophie has Feline Miliary Dermatitis. The cause of it is not known. The vets believe it may have been the Coles brand cat food she was on or it may be seasonal. She is almost finished a course of Ovarid to clear the scabbing & dead skin. She has healed very quickly. The medication is inexpensive and takes roughly 2 weeks to finish a course. FMD is not spreadable to humans and is similar to eczema in humans. You can read more about it here https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/feline-miliary-dermatitis
She had 1 dead flea on her on arrival so we aren't sure whether the FMD was brought on by fleas but this is something to be cautious about and she will need to be up to date on flea treatment to avoid another rash.
