About Marigold
Very human friendly sheep. Marigold came into care at 2 days old and was hand raised. She is very vocal and has lived with cats and a Labrador who was very friendly wanting to mother her.
Now adult size sheep, so please take that into consideration regarding transport. Research your transport options BEFORE you contact me. Transporting sheep using a commercial transporter is not cheap. Unless you have a suitable covered vehicle to place her in, that will not be acceptable. The cost of transporting needs to be included when you are thinking of hitting the enquire button. Please ask all family members who will be part of Marigold's family before enquiring. Children need to ensure both parents have given permission for them to have a sheep before enquiring. The home offered must be permanent, not just a few months trial if the family is relocating with a view of a tree change.
The adoption fee is $250 and not negotiable, so please do not ask as refusal may offend.
No comparision can be made to an organisation who receives multi million dollars in donations annually plus government funding, to someone like me who operates entirely on my own using my government age pension to pay for everything. The only time I ask for donations is when I have an animal that requires specialist vet surgery that costs several thousand dollars to save its life. Please consider that when enquiring, as the adoption fee will not be reduced. Thank you.
Adoption details
Marigold is looking for a home that has some knowledge of sheep and preferably has others where she can be part of the flock. She is a Dorper, so is self shedding. At times, Marigold can be very noisy so that needs to be considered if you have neighbours who may object to her bleating.
Marigold was born on 27th March, 2021
She is used to a Labrador, so will need careful introductions to any farm dogs, plus trained to run from other canines that may enter the farm. Alternatively, she could be contained in a safe shed every night. She also lives with several cats.
She has been vaccinated, but her tail is still complete which makes her distinctive in a flock.
