About Boomer
I am a very young handsome young gentleman but please dont adopt me unless you are prepared to put in the work. I came here as a stray and haven't had much interactions with humans yet. I need someone who understands I will take time and work to come out of my shell.
Boomer is a shy and anxious, but gentle cat. He was found stray in an industrial area and is nervous of people, so he's looking for a special, patient forever family who will build trust with him.
Boomer has been in foster care for a few weeks and is making progress with his confidence (isn't hiding anymore) but moves away if humans try to touch him at all. Taking him on as a forever family, please be prepared that it may take a month or longer before Boomer allows people to touch him. He will probably also hide and hiss at people in the first week in his forever home, but his hissing is just due to fear and he is not at all aggressive! He will gently take treats from people's hands without chomping on fingers, and plays gently.
As he's a young boy, Boomer is playful and active! He loves toys, like soft toy mice and balls with bells inside. This is a good way to make friends with him, as he can't resist coming out to bat a toy. He has a cute squeaky meow.
Boomer likes other cats and is very keen to make friends with his foster family's cat. He would be happy in a forever home with another cat (with the proper slow introduction). Because he is so shy and scared by loud noises and fast movements, Boomer would probably not like to live with young children. It's unknown if he likes dogs.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
