On Hold
About Mirri - Adoption Pending - On hold
NO MORE ENQURIES PLEASE. ON HOLD PENDING ADOPTION
Mirri is an absolute darling who is looking for her forever home - she would suit retirees perfectly or a family who is home most of the time. She is a loyal little girl.
She loves to snuggle up for cuddles & loves to be with you, but also likes to be outside. A life with a happy medium would suit her perfectly.
Mirri is looking for a local home (Mornington Peninsula area only ) so that ongoing training with her new family can begin. If you are not prepared to continue her training with us then she is not the dog for you - this is not negotiable. She knows her name and her recall is perfect under distraction, she can hold a drop or a stay on her bed for an hour if you need, she knows her boundaries, walks nicely on lead and listens well......so its VERY important that her NEW HUMANS ARE TAUGHT how to communicate in a way that is meaningful to Mirri so that her good behaviour stays great :) She rarely barks and is very compliant, but can be timid at first......so you also need to learn how to help her continue to make good choices :P
She is used to other well mannered dogs who do not get in her face, and has a few little friends she likes to play with. IF you have a small, gentle, well mannered dog - Mirri might enjoy a friend (you will need to be prepared to have a behavioural assessment with your current dog and some training to make sure both dogs are on the same page - to ensure a smooth family environment). Mirri sleeps in a crate at night. She is allowed on the couch but by invite only.
Mirri is very active for her 7 years young so a decent walk, trick training and lots of cuddles every day will keep her fit , happy and young at heart. Mirri would be quite content sleeping near you whilst you work from home or work in the garden etc, but she needs the exercise as well otherwise she could put on too much weight which would then be stressful for her joints. NO full time workers please. NO apartment dwellers. Someone should be home most of the time.
Mirri needs daily brushing and combing which she enjoys. She also needs a regular professional groom every 6-8 weeks to keep her coat healthy and matt free. She is a pleasure to groom and very compliant. A groom for a moodle is approx $60. We can arrange to do that for you if you choose.
Mirri is on a special natural diet to keep her healthy and fit (inside and out) so you would need to be willing to continue that. No kibble please :) Just good food (meat plus fruit and veg) along with the appropriate vitamins and minerals and raw meaty bones. She was on a very poor diet prior to coming to us and sadly had quite a few teeth removed -however she still loves her bones and they keep her anal glands and remaining teeth healthy naturally.
PLEASE NOTE: Mirri's adoption price includes a private lesson in your own home and a follow up lesson on my property, plus inclusion to other lesson material. Ongoing monthly catch up lessons are at the owners expense with us.
We can guide you in all of Mirri's holistic care as our support is ongoing with any pet you adopt from us.
IF you are interested in sweet little Mirri and fit the criteria in her bio, please email your details and request a pre-adoption enquiry form to: Pawfectsolutions@bigpond.com
Medical notes
Mirri is fed a completely natural diet with homeopathic herbs and supplements to keep her healthy and strong and to hinder any old age impairments. We can show you how to make her food.
Being a moodle, Mirri will require regular professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep her from getting matted. She will also require a daily brush and comb. One of her ears was torn (in her previous home), this does not bother her in any way and is healed, but groomer needs to be aware. Mirri can be groomed by us as needed :)
Mirri is free of any toxins in her diet and we would expect to keep her this way. She is not on any medications as yet, but she is on special supplements which we would expect you to continue. Being 7 years of age she will ONLY require titre testing, should you required a certificate of immunity.
If needed we can direct you to vets who will assist in the natural ways of medical practice as well as teach you what works for us. Its very easy :)
*Please note that Second Chance Rescue, Rehabilitation and Training Services is run by a Professionally Qualified Behavioural Trainer with a background in Veterinary Nursing and Natural canine nutrition.
**Please also note that it may take us a little while to get back to your emails, because of the nature of our workload. Thank you for your patience. Email (only) to: Pawfectsolutions@bigpond.com
