Rex is a five year old desexed male German Shepherd who was surrendered by his former owner as they had no time for him.
Rex is a gentle very chilled and good natured Shepherd. He came into care under weight and in poor coat condition so Rex has been to the groomer now to be pampered and is on good quality wet and dry food to fill out that lovely chest.
Rex is a handsome dark bronze and black saddled Shepherd who shared his previous home with a female dog. He is very gentle and affectionate and would be a good companion dog for a social and playful female dog.
Rex is currently in care at Vineyard and is 34 kilos and when in tip top condition will weigh around 39-40 kilos.
Still strong to walk on lead we will continue his lead training and basic obedience. We could see he is a very chilled dog so a home with dog savvy children over eight years of age (due to Rex’s size and height) would also suit this boy.
Not suitable to go with cats or pocket pets (rabbits or guinea pigs) unfortunately.

Rex had been desexed, C5 vaccinated and microchipped. He has been flea treated, wormed and on Heart worm prevention (monthly).
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
