About Rumpus
My name is Rumpus but my foster mum calls me Rumpi. I spent the first few months of my life on the streets with my cat family only observing humans from afar, so when I came to live with my foster family, I wasn't used to being in such close proximity to humans and was very frightened and flighty. However, over the past few weeks, I've made amazing progress as I've realised that domestic life is quite pleasant, and humans aren't so scary either.
While I might be flighty when you first meet me, I am actually a very curious and playful kitten, and it won't be long until I'm poking my head into your room and following you around the house to see what you're doing. I bring lots of amusement to my foster mummy and if you give me toys, I can entertain myself (and you) for hours.
I will need a patient family who understands that I'm very new to sharing a home with humans and will instinctively flee if you try to grab me, but don't worry. I'm getting over my phobia of hands and I'm learning that pats feel nice, but prefer to be the one to approach.
The transition from the streets to a house was made much smoother by the resident cats in my foster home, who showed me that domestic cat life can be peaceful and fun. I light up when I'm around cat friends, and can get upset when I'm alone, so I will be well suited to a house with a furry feline who is looking for a new best friend.
You can meet me in my foster home in Floreat.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
