About Rosie
COVID-19 border closures or not I can only be adopted in New South Wales or ACT.
My name is Rosie and I am a five year old desexed female German Shepherd whose owner has had to make the hard decision to find me a new home.
I am social with other large dogs, so could be a friend for a male German Shepherd or large breed also I can go to a home with cats as I have lived with some before.
I have had some basic training to walk well on a lead and be social with other dogs.
I am house trained and love nothing more then cuddling up with my family and watching tv.
I am looking for a family or couple who can take on the challenge of a large breed intelligent shepherd. I will need inclusion in the family home and be allowed to sleep inside on my doona bed. I will need a confident owner who understands the breed and have owned a shepherd or large breed dog recently.
I will need further lead obedience training to refine my skills so looking for people willing to work with me and not expect “the perfect dog”.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about this Pet"
Medical notes
Rosie is microchipped and desexed. She will be vaccinated and wormed before going to her new home.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
