🌱🌺 INTRODUCING MAVIS 🌺🌱
Nature
Mavis is a shy girl who is quite easy going and is happy to relax most of the day near her humans. She is still new to living with humans and isslowly getting used to daily pats by hand. She seems to love them but must be approached carefully to ensure that she is comfortable with them.
Mavis is a confident cat so, with just a little more time, she will probably become quite an affectionate kitty! Once in her new home, it would be worth using a back scratcher initially for pats and then slowly introducing pats by hand when you feel that she is ready. Mavis spent the first 2 months with her foster mum only accepting pats with a scratcher and eventually accepted pats by hand. With time and patience, her new family will get there too.
Mavis currently lives with one other foster cat and seems to like the company of other cats, she will need a slow introduction to make sure that things go well. She loves to follow her foster fur brother around the house, and they will play together on occasion. However, Mavis is also happy in her own company and enjoys having her own space, she spends most of the day sleeping on the couch near her foster carer.
Once Mavis is comfortable with you, she may come to you when she wants a pat and will go away when she has had enough. Mavis loves to play and will spend at least half an hour each evening playing with her foster mum. Mavis is very clean and uses her litter tray perfectly.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Mavis’ current home does not have any kids. As she is still quite shy, she would be best suited to being in a mature home with older kids who will respect her boundaries. She also has not lived with any dogs in the past but based on how she gets on with other cats, she may be OK with a cat-friendly dog as long as they have a very slow introduction.
Likes/Dislikes
Mavis loves her food, and she is always excited to get her wet food in the morning and evening. Mavis loved dry treats and has learned how to take them directly from her foster mum’s fingers. Mavis also has access to dry food all day to snack on, her favourite wet food is anything with fish, but she is easy and eats almost anything. She is still getting used to pats by hand and likes to know when they are coming. She may not like it if you surprise her. Mavis does not like to be picked up, but likes being close to the action/her people.
My PURR-fect home would be one with a cat friend or two who can keep me company. I would benefit a lot from a confident cat that loves humans, to help me learn and continue to grow. I would also suit a mature home with older kids or no children, and patient parents who will give me the time I need to continue to come out of my shell!
