About Mumbles
Hello, I'm Mumbles! I am an older lady but don't be fooled, I have the sassiness of a much younger girl! I like to play but I also like to nap and laze about in equal measure. At first, I wasn't in the best shape after being on the street. My fur was matted, some of it had fallen out and I wasn't at my supermodel best! In fact, I looked so bad that my age was estimated to be 15 (the impudence!) I am much closer to a sprightly 10 or 12 years old according to my teeth - which I love to show in a big yawwwwwwwn as I curl up in a comfy spot.
Now I'm happy and stress free, my coat has regained its fluffiness, and my tail is full and bushy. My tabby colouring enhances my big beautiful yellow eyes. I also have the cutest furry tufts on my toes, that makes me look like a forest cat. I'm quite a dish if I do say so myself!
I am also on a special diet to maintain my beautiful fur and keep my skin the best it can be. Regular brushing is recommended to prevent me getting hairballs and to keep my coat shiny. I am learning to like this the more it is done.
My foster mum says I am very affectionate, as I love to sleep on her bed (when I feel like it) I will cuddle up right next to her head, or maybe her feet. Sometimes I'll sleep on the floor when I feel independent. I often like to follow her around to see what she is doing, but I'll also lie on the floor in front of the tv. I can be carried for short periods, but I prefer not to be held unless I initiate that by jumping on your lap.
Having all this love can be overwhelming at times, so sometimes I forget I'm not still a street cat and I might nip at fingers if it all becomes too much. I don't mean to hurt you though, so it's more like a LOVE bite. I'm learning not to do this so much, and I know what the word 'No' means, so if foster mum says this I stop the biteys. I've also gotten better if I get regular play time. I love to bat at a wand toy, or chase around the house with a spell of the Zoomies. Sometimes this is late at night, but if you remind me it's bed time I soon settle down happily to purr away at your side.
I'm sometimes scared of loud noises and sudden movements, but foster mum says I have improved a LOT! For the above few reasons, I'm ideal for a home without human cubs, or maybe just the bigger ones who know when enough playtime is enough.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
