About Otis
Otis is an active staffy X who needs to get to know you slowly, over a few visits. He loves his walks but pulls on lead and lunges at cars and passing dogs if they are too close. He enjoys being patted and cuddled when he knows you. He sits on command and is easy to train. Otis would be best in an environment where he does not come across many dogs or cars during his exercise.
Walker says: "I do try to take them out for fairly long walks – you can feel their anxiety levels reduce the longer they’re out of the shelter, and their behaviour improves immeasurably." He has a short coat and weighs 22kg.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Adult Home: Nervous or not tolerant of children. And/or too high a level of excitability for children to control.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE:
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitation, with an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
