About Frankland
Salutations and felicitations dearest peasants. I am Sir Frankland of Scarborough (hitherto) and would be delighted to bestow my honourable presence upon your company. With near to a decade and a half of experience in instructing less fortunate beings than myself in all methods of entertainment and diversions, I have decided to retire. Therefore, I believe I would be a most esteemed addition to anyone who needs a touch more snuggling expertise in their life.
I'm a sweet old man who has probably seen better days. I came to Cat Haven in pretty bad condition because my owners knew they couldn't look after me properly. I needed to have mats clipped off and my teeth taken care of, but now I'm ready to find a loving retirement home.
Frankland is a strange mix of regal looks and silly stretches. He warms up quite quickly to head scratches and will make sure he gets his share of attention, without being too needy. He loves to be stroked and scratched right before bedtime, and may insist on some skin contact by lying right on top of your chest (or in your neck), but will move without fuss.
He is a genuinely sweet character, low maintenance, well domesticated and has not actively tried to escape even once. As with any cat, he enjoys his spot in the sun, and will also sit and stare out of windows or through screen doors for extended periods of time. He is an early riser, but with some coaxing and routine he settles down quickly. He is also a sucker for anything that smells of fish and that is normally a sure-fire way to entice him.
For an older gentleman, he still has a lot of spring in his step and a curious nature, but don't expect too much in the form of chasing fake mice or playing with toys. He has fallen in love with his scratching pole and this keeps him entertained when he wakes up early. Since he is considered elderly, he does seem to have slight problems with his vision, only when it comes to seeing water in his bowl. He prefers to have his water run into a bathtub where he knows he will find it. Frankland would be well suited to an older person/couple or even a family with older kids, as he may get frightened by loud or unexpected noises.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
