About Mia
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and travel being restricted, I can only be adopted in NSW or ACT.
My name is Mia, and I am a five year old German Shepherd. I am looking for a new home because my human mum is really sick and can't care for me any more.
I love cuddles and being inside with people, unfortunately I am not very good walking on a lead but will learn if you can spend some time teaching me.
I have not been socialised around other dogs, so need to be the only dog in the household.
I haven't been around little humans and because I am a large dog I would be better in a home with teenage children who have recently lived with a German Shepherd.
My ideal home is with people who have recently had a German Shepherd and understand my amazing breed, and where I can be the only dog and definitely no cats because I will chase them.
I have been well looked after and regularly go to the dog groomer, and have been wormed and on heart worm medication.
So, if you think you could be my new family, please select the "Enquire about this Pet" and give me some information about your family and then the Rescue people will try to call you and then I will need an application form to be filled out so I can help find the best home.
Medical notes
Mia has been desexed, vaccinated, wormed and is on heart worm prevention.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
