Bert was a stray semi feral kitten when he and his siblings were surrendered.
Now 12months old has trust issues and although he is ok to be picked up and held, he is not a cuddly cat... He likes to lie on your legs if he can feel bare skin and will seek out a warm lap of an evening. Bert is in good health and loves to explore. He is both an inside and outside cat. He is litter box trained and clean of habit but definitely not a sooky cat. If you are looking for Self-reliant cat then Bert's your man. He seems Ok with other cats and just has a curious reaction to our Jack Russelland other dogs and just wants them to play with him. He will get out of the way of children and would not make a good cat for a child.
He loves to play with mice.
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website http://www.radarescue.org/online-application-form Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within one week of the adoption.
