About Ellie
8 year old Ellie is a quiet shy Goldie who loves being around her hoomans. She thoroughly enjoys a cuddle & plenty of interaction.
Ellie walks very well on lead & enjoys her daily exercise. She will sniff at everything along the way, just taking in the sights & sounds. She hasn’t shown to date that she is reactive to other dogs while walking. Ellie is house trained & sleeps inside each night. She is learning to use the doggie door at her foster carers home. Ellie is on a great quality diet, with joint chews to help her on the inside. She gets on well with the other resident doggies & she hardly barks at all. Ellie loves the beach & playing in the water!
Ellie suffers from motion (car) sickness. We currently have her on a natural medication but will consult with Ellie's potential family regarding prescribed medication which will be beneficial for her.
Medication Condition:
Ellie has an under acting thyroid which means she will be on medication potentially for the rest of her life. This is currently two tablets each day. Ellie’s thyroid medication is $55 & there are 100 tablets in a bottle, meaning that her medication will last 55 days. Ellie will need a blood test every 6 months from her Vet to make sure that her thyroid levels are “even” & her medication does not need altering. The cost for this blood test could be around $130. This is what she needs.
Financial consideration & commitment to Ellie’s health is a definite condition in her potential adoption; that is non-negotiable. We will be looking at families that we know for certain will provide Ellie with the care she requires.
What does Ellie Need?
We are looking for a calm quiet existence for Ellie, perhaps a retired couple where Ellie can relax & just be with her family all the time, or a family that is home more often than not. If you do work, we prefer a doggie for company for Ellie. Ellie isn’t a “rumbler” as such & would prefer the company of a doggie that is like-minded and calm in nature. Ellie enjoys walking every day so an active family is a must. Car outings for Ellie at this time will need to be planned in conjunction with her motion sickness medication, but it doesn’t stop Ellie from enjoying life.
Ellie has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm & intestinal wormed, flea & tick treated, & her adoption fee is $550. Ellie is available for adoption in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast & Hervey Bay. Please note we do not adopt interstate or overseas. Ellie is being fostered in Brisbane. Part of our adoption process is to meet our dogs with your family, after our Committee have approved an application.
Successful families are chosen based on their compatibility with the individual needs & lifestyle requirements of each Golden in our care. We do encourage anyone interested in adopting one of our Goldies to please read our Adoption Process which is located on our website under the “Our Adoption Process” tab. This lists our process from start to finish.
