About Ramona
Hello, my name is Ramona.
I arrived at Cat Haven in November last year, and had my first
birthday in December. A lady began fostering me in early January. I don't
really remember very much about my life before arriving at the Cat Haven,
but something that happened to me during that time has made me very
frightened of people. It has made me think that people don't like me and
want to hurt me. Because I'm so frightened around people, I'm looking for a loving and patient family that will give me the time and space I need to adjust to the idea that not all people want to hurt me.
When I first arrived at my foster lady's home I spent most of my time hiding
under her bed.
But I have made some progress. Sometimes I let her hand-feed me and I have even let her pat me very gently on my paw. So I do still spend most of my time living under furniture, just out of my foster lady's reach. I guess you shouldn't expect my timidness around people to change for a while yet.
I get a bit restless in the middle of the night. When I think my foster lady is asleep and can't see or hear me, I will come out from under the bed and
wrestle with the bath mat and play with my little red ball. I love my red ball almost as much as I love chicken.
I'm not really very talkative yet. I guess I'm just too shy. But my foster lady says I am a very pretty girl. I am jet-black with bright golden green eyes - if I close my eyes in the dark, you won't see me.
As you might have guessed, I would not be able to cope in a home that
has other pets or children. I need peace and quiet so I can feel safe. I
really need a safe place where I can get to know and trust you without
distractions.
Because I'm so frightened of people and always wanting to run away, you
will need to make sure you keep me indoors. If I escape, it is unlikely you'll ever see me again.
I think I have the potential to be a lovely pet, but I am going to need LOTS
of time to get there. If you don't have other pets or children, and you think you are patient enough and caring enough to take me on, please come
and meet me at my foster home in Innaloo (but be ready to lie on the floor
with a piece of chicken in your hand).
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
