Glitch

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION THROUGH BE THE CHANGE ANIMAL SHELTER INC - “Glitch” is a 3 year old border collie x kelpie male who is only small to medium in size. Glitch was very much part of a family as a younger dog and since he has been given up for re-homing he is struggling with this loss. Glitch is a lovely young dog but is high energy and needs to be taught how to be a confident dog! He needs a new owner that will commit to ongoing training as he is a working breed and requires stimulation. Glitch needs to be re homed as an only pet as he was ok with other dogs until a recent dog escaped its property on a walk and attacked Glitch. It has traumatized him and now when he sees another dog he becomes defensive. He will also chase cats and pocket pets and, as such, he needs to be an only pet. Glitch loves children - we think he might have lived with children at some point. However, it is recommended he be re homed to older children 10 + as when he is excited he jumps up and he is strong (despite his small size). Glitch suffers from separation anxiety which we believe will settle in a forever home. He is so perfectly behaved when his people are around but when left alone he becomes anxious and barks and will scratch at the door to be let inside. Glitch’s ideal home would perhaps be with someone who is retired who enjoys daily walks, or someone who has a disability and is looking for a loving companion or even a family where maybe mum or dad stays or works from home.
