ADOPTION OR FOSTER CARE NEEDED
🎄Help us get these two into a loving home before Christmas 🎄
Meeko & Eski | 5 yrs old | Siberian Husky
Meeko and Eski have been in a the Shelter for six months now !! They’ve been in care so long now that they’re probably quite institutionalized and this life has become their norm. They were surrendered to the shelter together having lived together since they were pups.
They have different personalities and could be placed separately if needed. But we would love to keep them together, we think they deserve that.
We have added below some notes on them from the shelter staff and our team member that met them through the week. We know that Meeko and Eski would need some time to decompress in a new home to really show their true personalities.
Eski is the more energetic and confident of the two at the moment but apparently it was the opposite when they first came in and he has adapted a bit more to the shelter life. He seems to have a real willingness to learn and he is smart and food driven. On our walk he did try to catch a bird which was pretty funny He pulls when walking but responded well when given light correction with the lead. He wouldn’t need much training to master his lead manners. Eski is more aloof and ‘steady’ than his girlfriend.
Meeko is a cutie, a little anxious and very vocal. She loves to speak to everyone and everything! She is the more gregarious of the two but also the more anxious. Meeko is a little bit more sassy and originally more confident than Eski but this has changed over time since being in the shelter. She was alot more aloof at the meet and was interested in you when she wanted to be not so much when you called her over. She also pulls on the lead when walking, but with some training she could walk better.
They live in separate pens but they are walked together by volunteers everyday. They have been no problem to handle day-to-day.
