About Nat
Looking for a cuddly companion with abounding energy, intelligence and a loyal nature? Look no further than this pawsome pup, our special orphan and shelter favourite Nat. Along with his brother Vali, Nat came to us a 4 week old orphan dingo pup and was hand raised at our shelter by adoring volunteers.
Nat is great with people, outgoing and adventurous and would suit a household with or with out kids over 5. Nat will be around 18-20kg fully grown and would love a home with a doggy or dingo friend of a similar size or bigger. Nat is not suitable to with cats or in an apartment.
Fencing requirements:
Nat is a high content dingo
A high content dingo typically has two dingo parents or a large amount of dingo genetics. High content dingoes are often known as “pure dingoes”. High content dingoes have much stricter fencing requirements due to their climbing ability. You will need ONE OR MORE of the follow BEFORE an adoption trial for a high content dingo can begin.
- A 2.2m colour-bond or paling fence with nothing leaning against or near the fence line
- A 1.8m fence (of any sturdy material) with a 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing (see here: https://sanctuarysos.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cat-proof-fence-barrier-to-keep-cats-safe-in-the-garden.jpg ).
- A dog enclosure at least 1.8m high with either a full roof or 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing. Must be at least 25m square (for instance 5m x 5m or 8m x 3m)
- Mesh, concrete or similar around the base of the fence may also be required

Another option is using construction fencing style panels from bunnings or weldedmesh sheets and posts.

Dingo Adoption:
It takes a very special owner to provide a home for a dingo and adopting saves two lives, the one you adopt and the next dingo we can save now we have a free spot at our shelter.
We rehome a few types of dingo, what we typically call “low content” and “high content” dingoes. We have both pups and adults looking for homes and their profiles can be viewed here: https://www.petrescue.com.au/groups/10730/
Adoption fees range from $450 to $300 and cover desexing, vaccinations and microchipping.
A low content dingo typically has one parent who is a dog or a large amount of dog genetics. Low content dingoes are often called “dingo hybrids” or “dingo crosses”. Low content dingoes typically require a 1.8m fence OR a dog enclosure/run.
